The festival should be been starting on tomorrow November 20, but with the nation back under coronavirus restrictions has decided to postpone.

Filling Heaton Park with glowing lanterns, dazzling light displays and a 10-metre Christmas tree, this year's event will now begin on December 3 - the date that lockdown is expected to end.

With the later start, the festival will also stay in Greater Manchester longer, welcoming guests until Sunday January 10.

Lightopia will be open right across the festive period, except Christmas Day itself.
